The UNLV Runnin' Rebels have scheduled two new home games for this month to help augment their schedule, the university announced Friday.
The men's basketball team will host Saint Katherine on Tuesday, Jan. 12, and Benedictine Mesa on Thursday, Jan. 21.
Both universities compete in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, or NAIA, which is made of smaller schools, as opposed to the National Collegiate Athletic Association, or NCAA.
Six of the Runnin' Rebels' games this season have either been postponed or canceled due to COVID-19 cases among the program. Thursday's game against Colorado State was the team's first since Dec. 5.
"With the variability of our season’s schedule thus far, including the month-long break between games because of cancelations and postponements, it is important that we are able to play as many games as possible," head coach T.J. Otzelberger said in a statement.
The two games will be at Thomas & Mack Center, according to UNLV. Broadcast information has not yet been announced.
