The Golden Knights will be without defenseman Alex Pietrangelo when they return to the ice Friday night.

Vegas head coach Pete DeBoer told reporters Friday morning that Pietrangelo would remain in the league's COVID-19 protocol.

DeBoer said he believed the alternate captain was doing well and asymptomatic.

Prospect Dylan Coghlan, 22, is now slotted to join Nick Holden in a defensive pairing for Friday's game against the Los Angeles Kings, the coach said.

Pietrangelo has been unavailable since he was placed in the league protocol last week.

The Golden Knights haven't played since Jan. 26 due to ongoing COVID issues.
