'Run Away with Cirque du Soleil' returns to Springs Preserve

One of Las Vegas' most anticipated events is almost here -- the 17th annual Run Away with Cirque due Soleil, a 5K run and 1-mile fun walk at the Springs Preserve.

The event continues to allow participants to take photos and interact with their favorite Cirque du Soleil characters.

After the race, people can enjoy live music, a circus-themed play area, face painting, complimentary refreshments from Whole Foods and more.

The Blue Man Group will also be making their debut, kicking off the race, and all proceeds will benefit the springs preserve and the Cirque du Soleil foundations, Arts Nomades.

Brooke Wahlquist, project manager for public affairs and social responsibility at Cirque du Soleil, and Marcus Weiss, Arts Nomades teaching artist, joined us to talk about the fan on Saturday!

Visit the Cirque du Soleil website or the event Facebook page to learn more.
