We all know driving and texting or being on the phone is dangerous, but people don't realize how long we're distracted.

The AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety did a study and found on average, sending a text, talking on the phone distracts you for 27 seconds.

So if you're going just 25 mph, you'll cover the length of three football fields in that time.

Sergio Avila, spokesman for AAA, joined us in studio Wednesday to talk about how to make the roads safer.
