Like a boxing match, this is "The Main Event,” and that means all the preparation is going on right now on the roads -- specifically the Southbound I-15 from the Spaghetti Bowl.

The Nevada Department of Transportation is taking out bridges at the I-15/Spaghetti Bowl interchange.

You might notice some bridges disappearing through the weekend. You may also notice new traffic signs overhead now.

Martin Luther King Boulevard and Las Vegas Boulevard will be closed to local traffic at U.S. Highway 95 until Monday morning. All spaghetti bowl ramps will remain open during the closure. The closures are all in preparation for Monday, when the Spaghetti Bowl ramp will get closed for 30 days.

Come Monday, it is the third and final phase of Project Neon. the freeway closure will stretch from Martin Luther King Boulevard to Las Vegas Boulevard.

But the biggest impact we have been watching today is the U.S. 95 Southbound near Rancho Drive, where traffic has been at a stand-still trying to get off the exit or head north on Interstate 15.

News 3 will be watching the roads and updating you as the roads and weather changes.
