Trump to visit Las Vegas for Hope for Prisoners program graduation

President Donald Trump will visit Las Vegas next week to speak at an event for people re-entering the community after incarceration.

A White House official confirmed to News 3 that Trump will give remarks at the Hope for Prisoners graduation ceremony on Thursday, Feb. 20, at Las Vegas Metropolitan Police headquarters.

The president plans to highlight White House efforts to give former inmates new opportunities, according to the official.

It would be Trump's first visit to the Las Vegas valley since speaking at the Republican Jewish Coalition conference in April last year.

The appearance would come just two days before Nevada's Democratic presidential caucus.

Vice President Mike Pence is also scheduled to visit Las Vegas with an event on Friday, Feb. 21.
