Better watch out, better not cry! Because guess what ‘dudes’ and ‘dudettes’ ... IT'S CHRISTMAS IN JULY! Downtown Container Park’s monthly Kids Camp series returns this month with a summery twist to holiday cheer. Enjoy an afternoon taking pictures with Surfer Santa, learning hula with Mrs. Claus, and exploring Santa's Inflatable Summer Train!

It’s HO-HO-HOT outside! On Saturday, July 15th, kids can cool off at Santa’s Summer Wonderland on the Container Park lawn!

For $9 per child, kids will become Santa’s little helpers for-a-day indulging in reindeer games, crafts, and yuletide cheer. Kids (and parents) are encouraged to dress in their beach best and join the Claus Clan in spreading holiday cheer in the middle of your kiddo’s summer vacation.

Youngsters can check for their names on Santa’s ‘nice’ list as they sit for a photo with Mr. Christmas himself. Meanwhile, Mrs. Claus’ hips don’t lie! Join the matriarch of holiday cheer as she puts down her oven mitts to teach boys and girls in attendance how to dance the Hula. Then, skip the warm cookies and grab a frosty drink while your child prepares their Christmas wish list (because it’s never too early) and keepsake ornament.

Kids can also take a turn on Santa’s Inflatable Summer Train – complete with a bounce house, climbing wall, and waterslide combination fit for an epic day of fun in the sun!

Container Park’s Sunset Cinema is also celebrating Christmas in July with special Christmas showings including Elf (July 20) and The Grinch (July 27). Bring the kids and the blankets and lawn chairs; movies start at sundown.

Kids Camp: “Christmas in July” takes place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; kids under 12 years are welcome to attend. Christmas and vacation attire are encouraged! To purchase tickets, parents can visit the Downtown Container Park website.

The field of qualifiers is set for The Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) U.S. Masters at the Tropicana Las Vegas. The North American Qualifier, taking place July 11-12 has more than 160 entrants, including three-time World Champion John Part of Oshawa, Ontario, Canada and former World Matchplay winner Larry Butler of Dayton, Ohio.

Over $160,000 in prize money will be on offer as the biggest names in world darts travel to Tropicana Las Vegas for five days of action from July 11-15. Four Qualifiers will be held across two days on July 11-12 as North American players get their chance to earn spots in two televised events, the partypoker North American Championship and partypoker U.S. Darts Masters.

Canadian legend Part, the most successful North American player in history after winning three World Championship titles and the 2006 Las Vegas Desert Classic, headlines a bumper field of entries. American veteran Butler, who was the winner of the PDC's first World Matchplay in 1994, leads the American contingent, alongside his World Cup of Darts teammate Darin Young, the nine-time World Championship qualifier.

Among the qualifiers will be former UK Open finalist Gary Mawson (from Ontario, Canada, playing out of Florida), Canada's 2016 Lakeside Championship runner-up Jeff Smith (New Brunswick, Canada) and former PDC World Championship qualifiers Ken MacNeil (Alberta, Canada), Norman Madhoo (Campbellville, Guyana, playing out of Florida), Scott Kirchner (Wisconsin) and David Fatum (from British Colombia, Canada, now playing out of Phoenix, Arizona). Up-and-coming Canadian star Dawson Murschell of Alberta will also be in the field.

The winner of each Qualifier will automatically qualify for the North American Championship to be held on Thursday, July 13, and U.S. Darts Masters, along with the four highest prize money winners from the Qualifiers' Order of Merit.

Play on Thursday, July 13 sees the eight Qualifiers compete in the partypoker North American Championship, with a $10,000 first prize on offer alongside a place in the 2017-18 World Championship in London. Those eight players will then return to the stage for the partypoker U.S. Darts Masters as they take on eight top PDC stars in the main World Series of Darts event.

Former Las Vegas Desert Classic winner Raymond van Barneveld is among the eight PDC stars in action in the U.S. Darts Masters, alongside World Champion Michael van Gerwen, May’s Dubai Darts Masters winner Gary Anderson, 2017 UK Open champion Peter Wright, and emerging stars Gerwyn Price, Daryl Gurney, and Max Hopp.

Legendary 16-time World Champion Phil Taylor – a six-time Desert Classic winner from 2002-2009 – had been due to compete but was forced to withdraw through illness after competing in Shanghai last week, and is replaced by seven-time TV event winner James Wade.

Those who can’t experience the thrill of the event in person will, for the first time, be able to catch daily highlights shows on FOX Sports 1.

  • North American Championship – Thursday, July 13 at 9:30 p.m. PST
  • U.S. Masters Day One – Friday, July 14 at 9 p.m. PST
