ARIA on the Las Vegas Strip is preparing for a very sweet winter season.
The casino-resort has created its "Winter Wonderland" lobby display, made of edible ingredients and standing 15-feet-tall.
A team of pastry chefs spent more than four weeks on crafting the "Sugar Palace," with 4,000 pounds of sugar used to create pressed sugar bricks, snowflakes coated in crystal sugar, blown-sugar swans and much more, according to the resort.
"We wanted to bring our candy house back this year, but with an exciting new twist so we created a winter wonderland palace entirely out of sugar," executive pastry chef Mathieu Lavallee said in a press release. "Designing the Sugar Palace was a fun and unique challenge as we utilized several sugar work techniques and it took weeks of dedication and hard work by our wonderful ARIA pastry team to bring it to life."
The display will be in place through Tuesday, Jan. 5. It includes 20 pounds of glitter, 10 gallons of white paint and 500 crystals used on the forest.
